Refining the vision, exploring the space, and getting clear on what’s next.

This month has been incredibly informative.
After seeing The FundWave used live at two very different events, we’ve been spending more time thinking about the business — not just the app or the product, but the bigger picture. Where we’re headed. Who we’re serving. What needs to happen to grow.
When I had the vision for the app, I immediately thought about all pitch competitions. Startup events, founder showcases, demo days — I saw The FundWave working in every one of those spaces.
And I still do. But lately we’ve been zooming out and being more intentional about who we’re building for — and when they’ll be ready.
We recently built out an urgency vs. motivation matrix to help clarify that.
That exercise helped us prioritize. There are people and orgs who will absolutely use The FundWave — but they might not feel the urgency right now. And there are others who are ready today.
Education Keeps Coming Up
Kevin has been in education for over a decade, and lately we’ve been brainstorming around career and technical education — also known as CTE. He’s been developing ideas for a potential curriculum, and I’ve been doing my own homework to get up to speed on the space.

We’ve started to think about how The FundWave could be used in secondary schools, especially for pitch competitions or innovation projects inside CTE programs. There’s something really energizing about that — helping students learn to articulate ideas, give feedback, and participate in an entrepreneurial experience early.
Funny enough, I went to a kids’ pitch competition in Southwest Atlanta this month. Totally random — I found it on Eventbrite and decided to check it out. It was hosted at a library, and it was so sweet seeing grade-school kids get up and pitch their business ideas. No slides, no polish — just heart and imagination. It made me think about what The FundWave could look like in environments like that, where learning is just as important as winning.
Shifting Into Outreach Mode
We’re also beginning to work on our outreach database. It’s time to start preparing for business development — getting The FundWave in front of more people, and identifying organizations that might be early adopters.
We’re not rushing it, but we’re getting ready.
What’s Next
Right now, we’re doing some H2 planning — figuring out what the second half of 2025 looks like. That should wrap up by the end of June, and once it’s complete, we’ll have a much sharper view of where we’re focusing next.
One thing’s for sure:
This isn’t just a cool demo anymore.
It’s becoming something real — and it’s starting to take shape.
